The Little Mermaid Official Teaser Trailer

Out of the sea, wish I could be…. the beloved classic returns as Walt Disney Studios releases the official teaser trailer for their upcoming film The Little Mermaid. View trailer below.

“The Little Mermaid” is the beloved story of Ariel, a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. The youngest of King Triton’s daughters, and the most defiant, Ariel longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea, and while visiting the surface, falls for the dashing Prince Eric. While mermaids are forbidden to interact with humans, Ariel must follow her heart. She makes a deal with the evil sea witch, Ursula, which gives her a chance to experience life on land, but ultimately places her life – and her father’s crown – in jeopardy.

Growing up in the 90s, I do remember watching Disney’s The Little Mermaid a lot, the first of the “big four” of the Disney Renaissance. It was fun, engaging, colorful, and musically lyrical in its story of Ariel. It’s no wonder why the film is considered to be a classic of Disney catalogue of animated movies. Given Disney’s current trend of reimagining their beloved cartoons into live-action iterations, it’s no wonder that the “House of Mouse” would eventually come around to tackling the tale of The Little Mermaid sooner than later. This new trailer, which acts as a teaser, teases the iconic “Part of Your World” song and our first glimpse of Bailey’s Ariel. In the end, I am curious to see how this movie will ultimately shape up to be. A successful hit or a box office bomb? Only time will tell….
