Before HealthifyMe

I started to gain weight during my school days when I was about 14 to 15 years old. The weight gain was due to poor nutrition. No one in my family had the correct knowledge of nutrition to guide me on the same.

An incident during my younger days helped me decide to transform my unhealthy lifestyle into a healthy lifestyle.

The Turning Point

I used to look much older than my age. This was one of the greatest problems I faced. Difficulty in performing active tasks in my daily routine was another problem: all these things encouraged me to start my weight loss journey. I started searching for a fitness app that would help me with my transformation journey and I found HealthifyMe!

Weight Loss Transformation Journey

I lost my weight from 37 kgs, from 105 kgs to weighing 68 kgs. It took me about 1.5 years to lose such weight, but after losing weight I looked weak. So, I increased my weight by increasing my muscle mass. I started weight training and changed my calorie intake budget in the HealthifyMe app. I now weigh 76 kg and want to reach my weight goal of 78 kg.

Tips/Things that worked well throughout the transformation journey

One tip that worked well for me was to never give up. There may be a time when you won’t be able to control your diet but don’t see it as a failure. Start again with positive energy because you can do it! Avoid sugar as much as you can, plan your last meal as light as you can

And don’t make unrealistic goals. Take it slow because, as you know, slow and steady wins the race!

Favorite features on the HealthifyMe app

My favorite features include:

The calorie tracker, which tracks almost all Indian foods The portion control details such as, like protein, fat, carbs I also love the water intake tracker.

The most significant change in lifestyle after Joining HealthifyMe

The most significant change for me is I am much more active, energetic, and also look better!

Breaking down barriers

There were many times when I indulged in cheat meals, but I never gave up.

Whenever I got tempted by a cheat meal, my guilty conscience would remind me of all the hard work I put to reach my goals. But whenever I fell off the wagon, I would dust myself off and jump right back on!

Initially, I used to feel low, but over time I started to dislike eating unhealthy food because it no longer gave me happiness. Prioritizing my health and setting new fitness goals for myself is what gave me happiness!

Reactions from friends and family after the transformation

People used to say. “Bhai tu to aadha ho gaya, smart ho gaya, kaise kiya, bahut mehnat ki hai ladke ne!”

How do I feel now – after achieving my goal?

I feel great and proud now. I always set new goals for myself, my current new goal is to increase my muscle mass and body strength. Setting a new goal after completing one keeps me motivated!

It has eight times more vitamin C than an orange, twice the antioxidant power of acai berry, and around 17 times that of a pomegranate. The humble Indian gooseberry, commonly known as amla, truly deserves its superfood status. The translucent green fruit, which derives its name from the Sanskrit word ‘Amlaki’ meaning “nectar of life”, can protect us against countless ailments, be it the common cold, cancer, or infertility. Ayurveda doctors claim that amla fruit can help balance the three doshas (Kapha/vista/pitta) in the body and eliminate the underlying cause of many diseases. What are the Iron Rich Drinks to Boost Your Hemoglobin?

Pomegranates, also known as Anaar, are famous for their ruby-red tiny edible arils (seeds) and sweet-tart flavour. The fruit’s natural juice and seeds are rich in nutrients that offer multiple benefits. From controlling blood sugar levels to improving memory, pomegranates are a wonder fruit that can be an excellent addition to your diet. Pomegranate juice has a higher concentration of antioxidants, specifically polyphenols, than other fruit juices. It has approximately three times as many antioxidants as green tea or red wine. Because of this, pomegranate juice has the potential to lower low-density lipoprotein, or bad cholesterol, and help safeguard the heart. Additionally, studies have found that the compounds in pomegranate, such as gallic, oleanolic, ursolic, and uallic acids, have anti-diabetic properties. The pomegranate juice and peel extract may also help increase insulin sensitivity, which is beneficial for people with diabetes. Find out whether eating pomegranates increa...

Disenchanted (2022) Review

DON’T LOOK DOWN! (AND DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE) Survival movies have been around for quite some time and have had mixed results with viewers. Tales of death-defying moments of surviving the unbridled wrath of natural elements, surreal circumstances, and unlucky situations have always been fixed point of fascination with storytelling, leading to one suspense after another and finding thrills within those “fight for flight” moments. Yet, sometimes these films struggle to find a proper balance within its own context, with an unbalanced presentation of trying to focus more on the actual survival sequences (scares, suspense, and thrills) and not much on its characters and story progression. Sometimes narrative can be well-founded within true life events (i.e., based on a true story), while other times some survival accounts were created from fiction. Such prime examples of lates includes 2015’s The Martian, 2015’s Everest, 2016’s The Revenant, 2017’s 47 Meters Down, 2018’s Adrift, 2019’s...
