Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the greatest football players of all time. He is the son of Maria Dolores dos Santos Aveiro and José Dinis Aveiro. His father reportedly worked as an equipment manager for the local club, Andorinha, when Ronaldo was born and died at 53.

Football fans almost never got a chance to see Ronaldo flourish in football and be the greatest of all time (GOAT ) player that he is today because his mother reportedly almost aborted him before he was born, The Sun reported.

But now, Ronaldo and his mother are as close as could be and often joke about the story. In a film documentary about Ronaldo, speaking to his mother, the footballer joked and was quoted as saying,

“You didn’t want me to be born. But now you see that I’m here helping all of you.”

Ronaldo has amassed an enormous amount of respect in the football world over the years and has his $500 million (R8.4 billion) net worth to prove it.

THE BEGINNING OF CHRISTIANO’S CAREER

When he was only 15 years old, Ronaldo was diagnosed with a heart condition which he later sidelined, Britannica reported.

He first played for Clube Desportivo Nacional of Madeira before making his first big break in 2002, when he joined Sporting Clube de Portugal and played in various clubs.

After a successful season with Sporting, Ronaldo got signed by the English powerhouse Manchester United in 2003.

Between 2007-08, Ronaldo reportedly scored 31 League and 11 Cup goals and earned himself the Golden Shoe Award as Europe’s leading scorer.

He also bagged himself the Fédération Internationale Football Association (FIFA) World Player of the Year honours for the incredible season.

Ronaldo was then transferred to Real Madrid in 2009. During 2010-11, he continued breaking records and built a respectable name for himself when he netted 40 goals in La Liga history.

RONALDO’S ACHIEVEMENTS IN THE LAST DECADE

During 2011-12, Ronaldo broke his own record and reportedly scored a total of 66 goals in 56 appearances. By 2013, he had earned himself his second FIFA Player of the Year award.

Between 2013-14, he netted another 48 goals. By 2015, he had scored 324 goals which dubbed him Real Madrid’s all-time leading goal scorer.

Across the upcoming competitions, Ronaldo scored 42 goals between 2016-17 and 44 goals between 2017-18.

By this time, he had been awarded five FIFA Player of the Year awards.

It was bittersweet for Real Madrid after Ronaldo had scored 311 goals in 292 matches for the team and transferred to an Italian team, Juventus in 2018. The new team signed Ronaldo to a whopping R2.2 billion contract.

Juventus proved to have made an excellent choice in stealing Ronaldo from Real Madrid as the footballer helped the club capture another league title between 2018-19.

Juventus reportedly later won the 2020 Supercoppa Italiana and the 2021 Coppa Italia Final.

And then finally, Ronaldo made his move back to Manchester United and quickly left the team for the second time. His contract was terminated by 2022 on “mutual grounds,” and the footballer signed with the Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr.

The fruit’s natural juice and seeds are rich in nutrients that offer multiple benefits. From controlling blood sugar levels to improving memory, pomegranates are a wonder fruit that can be an excellent addition to your diet. Pomegranate juice has a higher concentration of antioxidants, specifically polyphenols, than other fruit juices. It has approximately three times as many antioxidants as green tea or red wine. Because of this, pomegranate juice has the potential to lower low-density lipoprotein, or bad cholesterol, and help safeguard the heart. Additionally, studies have found that the compounds in pomegranate, such as gallic, oleanolic, ursolic, and uallic acids, have anti-diabetic properties. The pomegranate juice and peel extract may also help increase insulin sensitivity, which is beneficial for people with diabetes. Find out whether eating pomegranates increa...

Disenchanted (2022) Review

DON’T LOOK DOWN! (AND DON’T WATCH THIS MOVIE) Survival movies have been around for quite some time and have had mixed results with viewers. Tales of death-defying moments of surviving the unbridled wrath of natural elements, surreal circumstances, and unlucky situations have always been fixed point of fascination with storytelling, leading to one suspense after another and finding thrills within those “fight for flight” moments. Yet, sometimes these films struggle to find a proper balance within its own context, with an unbalanced presentation of trying to focus more on the actual survival sequences (scares, suspense, and thrills) and not much on its characters and story progression. Sometimes narrative can be well-founded within true life events (i.e., based on a true story), while other times some survival accounts were created from fiction. Such prime examples of lates includes 2015’s The Martian, 2015’s Everest, 2016’s The Revenant, 2017’s 47 Meters Down, 2018’s Adrift, 2019’s...
